The Miles for Museums Summer Passport Program was created by the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society in 2023 to encourage community members and visitors to explore local museums and discover the rich history of our region. In 2024, the program expanded with a redesigned passport and interactive map created by the Matthews Heritage Museum, followed by the launch of a dedicated website in 2025.
Throughout the summer, participants visit participating museums, collect passport stamps, and enjoy fun, educational adventures across the region, with a chance to win prizes.

How do I participate?
It’s easy! Start by picking up a passport at any participating museum or downloading one here. Then, visit participating museums throughout the summer and collect a stamp at each location you explore.
Program Mission
To spark curiosity and community connection by encouraging people of all ages to explore local museums, celebrate regional history, and enjoy fun, educational adventures.
