Docents and Volunteers
The Matthews Heritage Museum relies on the time and talents of docents and volunteers to keep the museum functioning. With only one paid employee we rely on a pool of approximately 21 docents who give tours to visitors who stop by or groups that schedule. They lovingly share the history of Matthews and stories of the people to all who visit. We are also blessed to have volunteers from time to time, usually Boy Scouts or students fulfilling project hours, who help with working on the yard, building a bench or other such things. There is simply no way we could serve the community without these dedicated workers. If you think you would like to be a docent, please call 704-708-4996 and speak to the Director, Barbara Taylor.
